The borough of Lachine is located on a cove of the beautiful Lachine Canal in the southwest section of Montreal. It is within close proximity to the borough of LaSalle and the city of Dorval. Many of the historic buildings in Lachine have been renovated into luxury lofts. Bicycle paths, community gardens, a marina and Rene Levesque Park make Lachine a great choice for families. There are several English and French speaking schools in the area. Autoroute 20 and a commuter train station serve Lachine.

Ville-Saint-Pierre is a small neighborhood located in the north end of the Lachine borough. Residents have easy accessibility to downtown through the use of trains and buses. The family-friendly neighborhood offers a golf course, seasonal events, community gardens, markets and schools. The Lachine Canal is a great spot for families to go walking, bicycling or in-line skating. Guided canal boat tours are also very popular.
